Welcome to the Save With CPR Infant CPR, AED, and Choking Relief Course! In this course, you will learn essential life-saving skills specifically designed for infants. You will be trained to recognize cardiac arrest, perform high-quality CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and provide choking relief, all tailored to the needs of infants.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify Cardiac Arrest in Infants: Recognize when an infant is in cardiac arrest by checking for apnea (absence of breathing) and unresponsiveness, or pulselessness within 10 seconds, and activate Emergency Medical Services.
  • Perform High-Quality Infant CPR: Execute effective CPR on an infant with the correct finger placement, compression depth, chest recoil, and proper rate and rhythm, following current ILCOR guidelines.
  • Deliver Rescue Breaths: Provide rescue breaths using mouth-to-mouth/nose, mouth-to-mask, or a bag valve mask, maintaining the appropriate ratio based on the number of rescuers (30 compressions to 2 ventilations for a single rescuer, 15 compressions to 2 ventilations for multiple rescuers).
  • Use an AED: Operate an AED by turning it on, placing the pads correctly, and following its prompts.
  • Resume CPR Post-AED Use: Continue high-quality CPR immediately after AED use as directed.
  • Clear Airway Obstructions: Identify and perform the correct maneuvers to relieve a complete airway obstruction in a choking infant.
